What I like about these photographs is how an atmosphere of desertion and solitude pervades the work. I don’t feel sad, however, looking at these pictures. Rather I feel a sort of nostalgia that is almost uplifting. I feel almost as I did when I was young and would go on little adventures through empty lots and construction, or fields far removed from any sign of civilization. The airplane in particular connotes a childlike nostalgia for flying, but because the airplane is stored away in a shed and most likely unusable, the picture evokes the sense of arrested dreams, dreams frozen in the past. – Chris Al-Aswad
