ARTIST STATEMENT
My paintings and prints are visual conversations that speak to the people, places, things, and events that bring purpose and meaning to life. The themes belong to all of us. The specifics come from the fabric of my life and are expressed in fragments with pictures and words. They are about life as it occurs through human intellect, experience, and disquietude of the soul. The questions are timeless but the uniqueness of each of our lives presents the possibility of personal insight. I make images for insight and understanding. Doing them is how I try to understand the complexity of the one life I know I have. They are honest, some may even be true.
