Lockwood Dennis
About The Artist
Northwest artist Lockwood Dennis draws on a rich history for his colorful woodblock prints. Inspiration comes from diverse traditions such as German Expressionist prints, Japanese woodcuts, comic art, and WPA era industrial design. Dennis works with images of urban landscapes and automobiles of the 1930’s and 1940’s. Although his scenes often relate to specific sites in the Northwest, Dennis captures a universal appeal and sense of nostalgia. Dennis is represented exclusively by Davidson Galleries.
His work is included in many public collections, including Microsoft Corporation, WA; Seattle Art Commission, WA; Hallie Ford Museum of Art, OR; and the Tacoma Art Museum, WA.
