Wow this is just some of the most AMAZING art I have ever seen. So inspiring I love art as well I'm goign to show this to my cousin who is in art school.
Definitely an Ed Gorey/Where the Wild Things Are influence. I read a comment about it not being original. Fact is,NOTHING is. There is always an outside inspiration in art.
Great characters! Whether or not anyone believes the art style is original or not, each character has it's own unique personality, so bravo for the developing drawings. Hope to see more!
I agree with the first person. These are wonderful but they remind me of Maurice Sendak. This is not meant to be a slight, it is merely an observation.
Take another look at Ed Gorey, Maurice Sendak and Shell Silverstein via google. These are very unique and beautiful. The artist has clearly come up with his own ideas about kids and monsters and ink drawings.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your drawings. It's like the monsters are hiding, lurking, always there, but no one knows it. The joke is on the so called normal people just minding their own business going about whatever it is that they do, totally unsuspecting they could become a victim any moment. The possibility of what the monsters might do next gives the pictures energy and action. And we are in on the joke. Tee hee hee.
THESE ARE AWESOME!!! why is everibody comparing in it to different artists?! of course there's people out there who draw in a similar style. these are grrrrreat!
This is fantastic! I simply love it. I'm a big fan of monsters, and these are simply just adorable.

The style actually reminds me of Princess Mononoke by Miazake
It's a bit of an Edward Gorey ripoff.
I would say more an homage to Edward Gorey than a ripoff. Good work, if not an original style.
would you like to make a short with your draws?.
Great, *another* hipster-masturbating ripoff of Where the Wild Things Are. That's *exactly* what we need.
Looks a lot like Where the Wild Things Are.

Great images and real monsters! It look like pictures of japan horrors… Thanks!
LOVE THIS- If Sendack and Gorey had a child he would make this work!

beautiful and interesting… too bad it's unoriginal. this is the unsettling version of where the wild things are, but that's just my two cents.

so his web site states his name as Don Kenn….
good job there.
His name is John Kenn. If you look at his Google Profile it says “John” . . . I'm not sure why he calls his site “Don Kenn” . . .
