Artist Statement
My work plays with mysticism, my personal folklore and memories of growing up in rural Indiana. The paintings here are about death, sex, ghosts, and nature. The figures in my paintings not named are muses or ghosts of the Midwest. I work from original snapshots. I use watercolor because of its rich and imperfect nature, and for its use in sappy art and the coloring of antique prints. (ArtSlant)
