Nance Van Winckel
Nance Van Winckel had two new books out in 2013: Pacific Walkers, her sixth collection of poems (U of Washington Press), and Boneland, her fourth book of linked stories (U of Oklahoma Press). The recipient of two NEA Poetry Fellowships and awards from the Poetry Society of America, Poetry, and Prairie Schooner, she has new poems in The Pushcart Prize Anthology, Poetry Northwest, Crazyhorse, Field, and Gettysburg Review. A collage novel is forthcoming in November, 2014. She lives in Spokane, WA and teaches in the low-residency MFA Program at Vermont College of Fine Arts. The collage poems above are altered pages from the 1964 OFFICIAL GUIDE TO THE NEW YORK WORLD’S FAIR, in a series called SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP.
