Matt Duquette
Artist Bio
Matt Duquette’s collection of mixed media works is based on past, present and future physical, and metaphysical, surroundings. They are littered with news paper clippings, post it notes, hand written letters, scrap sketches, and layered with acrylic paint on board; it’s all about the gritty memories that come with surviving life. Each piece in the collection allows for various levels of tactile and psychological meaning.
Matt is a punk rock enthusiast who grew up in the Rust Belt. Earlier this decade the School of Visual Arts in New York gave him a Masters Degree that stated he was indeed an artist and deserved a job in the world of interactive design. In 2008 Matt left the agency life to fly solo and develop 12 Grain Studio with his wife and two wise black cats. Together they develop über creative web content and an arts web-zine called the The Artery Magazine. Matt exhibits in NYC, Buffalo and Durham, and has been published in Punk Planet and Playboy Magazine.
