About the Artist
Dan Voinea (b.1970) graduated in 1997 from the National University of Arts in Bucharest, Rumania, where he continues to live and work.
He creates oil on linen figurative paintings with a surreal feel, where people seem to float or dissolve and where there may be missing or extra or at times transparent body parts. Whether you call the paintings absurd, mysterious, strange, dreamy or hallucinatory, Voinea’s work is technically accomplished and always striking and beautiful.
